I started DJing 13 years ago in my first year at university. By my final year I was playing in the main clubs in Cardiff. Namely Aspire, Vision 2K, Emporium and "ROAR" night at Evolution. Whilst playing this night I was approached by the DJ Jimpy who told me I was one of the most forward thinking and innovative DJs he had met.
However in 2005 I had a severe accident. The years since have seen me go through an extensive rehab programme, initially focusing on the physical impact of my accident. However it has always been my aspiration to be a successful DJ again.
Last year saw me adapt from mixing vinyl to being able to mix digitally. I have also successfully completed both the intermediate and advanced DJ course at Point Blank Music Academy.
During the advanced DJ course I beat matched four decks at the same time something no other student had ever achieved. Following this I attended Point Blank for the third time and completed a weekend taster on Ableton Live. I have recently purchased a Mac Book and the Ableton Live software to continue progressing with the Ableton Live software with view to producing my own music.
Since March 2011 I have been producing my own show on an internet radio station called Radio Marmalade . This has led me to play on a monthly basis at the radio stations club night. My DJ slot at Club Marmalade saw the manager of the nightclub where it is housed offer me a set on her own clubs Saturday night bill.
Last summer I went to Ibiza to see my favourite DJs it was a great experience. This summer I will be going back and I am hoping to be given the opportunity to play a short set as another step in my rehabilitation process.
